It's the Simmons drum! Comes in many flavours and with beautiful pads.
Simmons pads
When talking about cool synthetic drum sounds and huge sounding toms the Simmons is the stuff you want. Even if you dont like Phil Collins you have to respect him as the "king of tom fills". Listen to the huge sound of the toms on "In the air tonight".
Another song containging Simmons drums is Ultravox's "The voice".
