The SD 2100 is a software emulution of the famous and classic hardware sampler E-mu SP 1200.
The SP 1200 is a legendary sampler originally released in 1988 with a reissue in 1997. Its specs is, compared to todays soft and hardware samplers, VERY modest with its 22 kHz, 12-bit resolution and 4 2.5 second blocks of total 10 seconds sampling time. Despite its limitations it is still very popular and sought after amoung electronica and hip-hop producers around the world for its crunchy 12 bit sound. There is one big problem though. If you want get hold of one of those golden oldies you have to pay a minor fortune to get one. To our rescue and luck Acquit Music have stepped in and developed a software version of this classic called SD 2100. It is supposed to mimic the sound of the original quite well, so if you need to add some oldschool grit and punch to your drums, visit their website where you can download the plug-in.
