One of the best things about synth pop are not only the splendid melodies and lush atmospheres, but also the great riffs and powerful sounds. Some the best sounding synth pop sounds ever made has been produced by Vince Clarke, the master of analogue synth pop sounds. One of synth pop historys most classic riffs are the opening of Yazoo's "Don't go". The song and all it's sound carries Vince Clarke geniuos all over it. And one has to ask the question; "What is that great sounding synthesizer"? Oh, it's one of the best ever, monofonic synthesizers in the world: The Sequential Circuits Pro-One, one of Vince's absolute favourites. Unease has published a great article on the Pro-One and been brilliantly generous to give away sounds, patches and knowledge about the little darling (meaning the synth). All you that have heard the Yazoo master peice will know what the Unease guys mean with the "Whrooau"-sound. Don't you http://www.unease.se/proone.htm http://www.vintagesynth.com/sci/seqpro1.shtml What is the best synth pop riff ever made? What is the nicest synth pop sound ever made?
